Last snack for the night.

Every night before bedtime Mama and Dad gives me a treat. Maybe that's why I go and get my stuffed animal each evening around 10:30pm. Anyway, they make me wait for the treats...

And wait...

And wait...

Finally I take it and run.
Oh by the way those are just a few of my many FAVORITE stuffed animals.

Now excuse me while I go and select which stuffed animal to bring out tonight.
Good night everyone.

I love to take walks with Dad. Today we walked all the way to the Animal Pet Hospital on Taraval to see Auntie Megumi (she's a vet technician there) to get my nails trimmed. Needless to say I was very pooped by the time I got home. But it was fun walking.

I love walking on the sand at the beach. It's so nice and calming too. Love that salt air against my face.

All this talk about walking is making me tired again. Good night everyone. A special love to my Auntie Adriana and her family.

It's hard believe that May is coming to an end in just a few more days. Spring is over Summer is right around the corner. That means it's Pug Sunday time. Whaaaat you don't know about Pug Sundays?

At Alta Plaza Park up in Pacific Heights. Yeah I know a bit hoity toity but can you imagine being surrounded by 50 or so boys and girls who look kind of like me? I KNOW. I was scared the first time I went. I kept hiding behind Dad's legs. Some of the pugs kept sniffing my bootie. Now I'm not use to that so I was taken aback a bit. It was like "What the heck are you doing?" "Get away from my butt."

Anyways, Pug Sunday is a blast and if you're thinking of bringing one of my many many relatives into your home, this is a great place to see us. It's like a block party. Soooo many snacks, so many butts to smell. All in good fun.

These boys thought that man was a fire hydrant. Heheh.

Now he's an old geezer. Look at all that grey.

So young and old are all present at Pug Sunday. Hope to see you one day at Pug Sunday.

Did I tell you that I'm a cheese connoisseur?  Give me a piece of brie, harvarti, even the stinky kind. I just love it.
Just don't give me yellow cheese. You know the kind that comes wrapped individually...American cheese. I'll turn my nose and look the other way. Yep I can be sort of a food snob. I don't know why I became so picky. Don't like dog biscuits. Love those organic dog jerkys, don't like smoked stuff...I think it's the smell.

But like any canine, I DO LOVE ME A GOOD STEAK BONE. I'll drag that sucker to my secret hiding place and gnaw on it forever.
Of course Mama takes it away once it gets a bit yucky. Oh well.

Ooooh is that ice cream???

I was thinking today about how my life has changed since I came to live with my Mama & Dad...

How lucky I am and how much love is in our home. Mama & Dad take very good care of me and in return I give them unconditional love...plus I snarfle in their face all the time. Mama's glasses are always spotty with my snarfle residue. But she and Dad never complain. That's love.

My paws are in good hands.

Memorial Day

In appreciation to all of our men & women who are out there serving our country I would just like to say "Thank You!"

Mama, Dad and I just hung out at home today. Too cold outside to do anything. Burrrrr. You know where I was. YUP under that warm kotatsu heating table keeping myself warm and toasty.

Mama wanted me to talk about "Ne Ne Time." In English that translates to bedtime. Every evening at around 10:30pm, I tell Mama and Dad it's ne ne time. No silly I don't actual say it, I skip on over to my bedroom (I mean our bedroom) bring out piggy (Kalli's present to me) or Mr. Monkey.

I bring it to the living room, plop it down in from of Mama & Dad and stare at them. What I'm saying is "Hint hint, let's go to bed"

Just talking about ne ne time is already making me sleepy. Good night.

Oh Baachan is coming over tomorrow for a visit too!

I'm going to put on my favorite tshirt tomorrow.

I Always Love My Mama.

Mama is Los Angeles til tomorrow. It's just me and Dad tonight. I already miss sitting and snuggling in Mama's lap.
Most of all I miss Mama's voice.

Mama if you are reading this post, I miss you. Hurry up and come home.

With that today's post will be brief. Here's a family portrait.
That's Mama's feet and you can see Dad's body in the background.

Spaghetti

I love spaghetti. Dad made some tonight. I really love spaghetti. When I smell it I gotta have some. Even if it means climbing on Mama's lap and taking some noodles that's hanging from her mouth!!! Just like that Disney movie...what was it called? Oh yeah Lady & the Tramp. Mama the Lady, me the Tramp.

Here's me and Mama. My favorite person in the whole world.

Mama is leaving for Los Angeles tomorrow for work. I'm going to miss her so much. But she reminded me that this weekend is a 3 day weekend and that I'll get to spend all 3 days with her and Dad. Wooo Hooo. Maybe they will take me to Polly Ann's for my doggie cone.

Good night everyone!

Mama wanted me to talk about how I hog the bed at night time.

Mama & Dad had to buy a California King bed due to my hogging. Really. The other night I slept diagonally on Mama's side. That meant Mama slept diagonally. That meant Dad slept on the edge. What can I say. I love MY bed. I wish I had a photo to show you, but that means someone else other than Mama and Dad would have to be in the room while we sleep, and frankly that would be a little weird.

So instead I'll give you my Cecil B DeMille close up....

With that good night, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite.

Ahhhhhh the fog is here. Don't get me wrong I do love napping in the warmth of the sun, I just can't take too much of it.

One year Mama took me down to the Folsom Street Fair to meet Uncle Tom and Uncle Andreas. It was hot as hell that year. We walked from Japantown to Folsom Street. By the time we got there I was so tired and hot I just had to hide behind a nice young man and take a snooze. Needless to say Mama had to carry me from then on. All the boyz came over to say how cute I was and I graciously batted my beautiful eyes in appreciation.

I'm a sucker for affection.

That's it for today.

Another Hot Day in the City.

Being a pug, I love the fog. Hot weather just does not suit me. I have to lay down on the linoleum in the kitchen just to cool off.

Usually I love staying under the Japanese kotatsu table (heated table) and taking naps. Another of my favorite place to nap is on Mama's lap. So comfy and I fit perfectly there.

I'm just waiting for the day I can put my sweater on again.

I know what you're all thinking. Dang Teppei's Mama loves to put clothes on him.
Actually I love to wear my clothes. Mama's friends from Japan sent a few clothes that I just love.
Fits perfectly and I must say the quality of the sewing is excellent.

Mama still wants to find a judo gi (training clothes) for me as well as a aloha shirt.
She is hoping Auntie Leah will carry some at her store Aloha Warehouse one day (hint hint).

Anyway, that is it for today. Mama said I can have some of my favorite cheeeeesecake tonight.
Yes I have a bit of a sweet tooth.

Saturday, May 16, 2009

It was hot as hell today. Too hot for pugs. Mama had to put a cold towel on my head just to cool me off.

Ahhhhh.... that feels sooo much better.

Now for some ice cream. I love vanilla ice cream.

Tomorrow is Bay to Breakers in the City. I'm staying home awaaaaaay from the runners, walkers, streakers and funny people in crazy outfits. Oh wait...maybe I can be part of the crazy outfit crowd.

Don't even ask. Mama bought this for me. I'm suppose to be a bumble bee.
YES a bumble bee.

With that, good night everyone. See you tomorrow!

Uncle Bob & Auntie Karen gave Mama a little pug earlier this year.
I thought Mama and Dad brought home little brother at first.

Waited for him to talk to me. But nothing.

Mama explained to me that he was just a stuffed animal.

OOOOOOHHHHHH. Another one to add to my collection.
Thank you Uncle Bob & Auntie Karen!!

Today I'm keeping my post short. Mama, Dad and I are going to watch Twilight.
Good night all.

Thursday, May 14, 2009

Every evening around 10:30pm I go to the bedroom and bring out one of my many stuffed animals. It's my way of telling Mama & Dad it is time to go to bed. YUP 10:30pm. Mom tells me that long ago this was the time she and her friends would go out to Kanzaki Lounge to start the weekend early. CAN YOU BELIEVE IT! Those days are long gone, but Mama does on a occasion go out with her friends to have a drink or two or three.

Oh where was I...oh yeah, my routine...my stuffed animals.

I just love little stuffed animals. As I mentioned I have lots. My friend Kalli gave me a cute little pig last year. Here's a picture of it after I kinda dirtied it up. Sorry Kalli...Mama did throw piggy in the laundry and she is all clean now.

Oh and thank you Auntie Sharon for pointing out the spelling boo boo for my favorite links.

More tomorrow. It's almost bed time. Gotta go get my stuffed animal. Good night.

Being a pug is not an easy as one thinks. For one thing I have no snout. Yup my face is pretty flat. Dad sometimes puts his had in front of my face to prove the point. Mom says that's mean. I agree. I can't help it. I do know that my original Dad picked me out of my brothers and sisters because I had the flattest face.

We pugs have a curly que tail too. NO not like a pig. Although you take the "i" out of pig replace it with a "u" and yup you get PUG.

Mom sometimes wraps my stuffed animal around my tail just have a laugh. She does those kinds of things alot. But she always gives me a hug too.

I DID NOT WANT TO GET OUT OF BED TODAY

Don't you have those days that you just don't want to get out of bed?

Today was that day for me. Mom was calling me and calling me to get out of bed for my morning jaunt in the backyard. I kept snoring away. OH YES I do snore folks. Mom says my snores are cute. Dads snore IS NOT cute.

Well I finally woke up.

Don't look too close I have eye boogers.

Monday Monday

Monday means the start of a new week. For me it means the weekend is over and I have to wait til Saturday to hang out with Mom & Dad all day. For now I'll have to stay perched on my pillows and bask in the sun. It was sunny over here for a while. Then the sun figured out it was Monday and went into hiding.

Just to brighten everyone's day, here I am with my sombrero. Mom found it, don't ask where. Probably at her Church's garage sale. Jeez the things she makes me wear.

HAPPY MAMA'S DAY

Today is my Mama's Day. Oh I mean everyone's Mama's Day. I love my Mama. I really do. She gives me the best hugs & kisses and magically wakes up in the middle of the night when I need to go pee-pee (which is NOT often). But when it does she wakes up and takes me outside. Dad on the other hand keeps snoring away. Is that the same at your home?

Baachan (grandma in Japanese) came over today and I got to spend time with her as well. She was singing Japanese children's songs all day long. Now she is taking a little nap.

Happy Mama's Day to all the mothers in the world. They are special people. Give them a kiss. They deserve it.

Mama, Baachan and Moi. I know I know I got a little distracted.

Saturday, May 9, 2009

Well today is another gorgeous day here in San Francisco. Already went to the backyard to take care of business. Oh by the way the gang of 3 that lives next door (Minature Yorkies) are now a gang of only 2. Lucky went to doggie heaven. He leaves behind his wife and daugther, Penny & Precious.

Here's Lucky peeking through our peek-a-boo hole.

Now back to nap time.

Thursday, May 7, 2009

It was such a nice day today that I thought I'd head up to the reservoir near our home. I was hoping that Betty the pug would come...

I guess not. Just not my day.
Hello everyone, my name is Teppei. I am a rescue dog. JUST KIDDING. Well, in some ways I was. I used to live with my mom's oldest brother Toshi (my former dad), mom Setsuko (my former mom) and Butaro (da cat). Anyway, I use to visit Auntie Grace on 3 day weekends and boy oh boy those long weekends was like a mini vacation for me. I had my suitcase all packed each time those 3 day weekends came around.

Vacations must all come to an end. I was shuttled back each time...not a happy camper. My dad would call Auntie Grace and let her know that I was in a protest mode. Not eating my usual bland food. Call it a food strike...call it whatever, I just wanted to be spoiled.

This went on for a while until Auntie Grace & Uncle Kalen moved to a new home where they allowed a pet. Tah dah! That was my ticket to a new life. Woo Hoo in my eyes I was rescued. Although I really love my old mom & dad (and they do come visit), I am very happy at my new home with my new family. Sometimes when my old dad comes over, he says "Teppei let's go home," the sound of that sent shivers down my spine. Then he laughs. The nerve.

So this blog is about my life. Hope you enjoy.

Teppei Boy

Welcome to Teppei Boy!

Teppei is the name of our boy. Ok ok he is a pug, but to me and my husband he is our little boy. He's brought so much joy into our lives and continues to entertain us with his facial expressions that say so much. And that is why I have started this blog, to share with you Teppei's photos and what he's wanting to say.

I'm hoping to chronicle his life here so that you can see how much this little boy means to us.

Now without further a do...My Teppei Boy
