Merry Merry Xmas!

TODAY IS CHRISTMAS!!!

I got lots of presents from Santa and all my aunties, uncle & cousin today...

First I got the "Men in Black" Frank bobble head from Auntie Karen!!
It's a collectible Mama says. Aren't I a collectible too Mama?

Second Auntie Denise & Cousin Kalli game me some yummy snacks and a tree filled with little squirrels! Reminds me of a real squirrel that lived in Golden Gate Park named Charlie.

I smelled them first to see if they were real.

Mama they don't smell like Charlie!

I went ballistic and accidentally took off one of their hats.

And of course Mama and Dad thought it was funny to put on my head!

Auntie Angel & Uncle Geary gave me even more toys!
I like this one Auntie Angel. He makes crunch crunch crunch noises.

Mama and I re enacted Mary and Baby Jesus.
HEYYYYYY I am a good baby Jesus!!

The Horikiri & Lowe families want to wish you all a Merry Merry Xmas!

P.S. Baachan and Jiichan says メリークリスマス!
P.S.S. Mama said Santa & Rudolph forgot to drop off a sweater that Mama requested. Santa is going to come over again next week. This time in a UPS truck. Whatever that is.

Chillin' with Honu

The other day I was chillin' at home. Takin' my usual snooze.

Oh yeah I was chilln' with my pal Honu.

He was going to take me to the Big Island with him. But I think I kinda weighed him down.

Sorry Honu, maybe next time we can hop on a surf board and ride the waves over to paradise instead. For now let's just take a snooze here.

I'ma Big Bed Bug

Mama and Dad covered me up when they were changing the sheets over the weekend.
I got a glimpse of what it may feel like to be a bed bug.

All I can say is it's hard to breathe covered up like that.

Thank You Atta Ya Family!

Mama and I received a package from Hokkaido, Japan this weekend. It was from my Yomogi girlfriend's Mama, Sakuka-san. As you know, Yomogi Girl passed away back in July.

As a thank you to all Yomogi Girl's friends, her Mama sent these wonderful thank you gifts. It included a  postcard of Yomogi, a little pug pouch, a pug omamori (amulet) and to my surprise personalized postcards for moi!

Thank you thank you thank you Sakuka!! Mama and I will keep Yomogi-chan's memory alive in our hearts forever!

Chu Chu Chu from me, Teppei Boy!

Mama I'm Not a Pear

Mama copied one of her pug friends in Japan and made me look like an Asian Pear.
She put the netting on my head.

I didn't think it was funny. Can you tell?

Then she decided to wrap my head with a tenugui (Japanese hand towel).
Yes you can see the expression on my face.

Mama would you just let me be. Tanomu (please).
I think Mama is bored.
Auntie Pat please do something.

39th Annual Nihonmachi Street Fair

Well folks if you didn't make it out to the 39th Annual Nihonmachi Street Fair ya missed out on a fabulous weekend. Plus that also means you didn't get to see me in the Doggie Parade.
I was the Grand Marshall of the Doggie Parade which ended with the NSF's 1st Annual Fun & Furry Pooch Pageant.

Look at the wonderful float that the JCYC youth created for moi! Yup I didn't have to march down. Rode da float with Tubby by my side (he pictured here on the right) and Bonanza leading the parade in his King Kamehameha costume (picture to come!).

Over 42 doggies participated in this very first event at the Nihonmachi Street Fair. Chu Chu Chu kisses to Auntie Gail, Aunti Marie and Auntie Shirley.

Next year it's gonna be bigger!!! Woof Woof!!!

Farewell Yomogi Girl

Today is a very sad day. My eHarmony girlfriend Yomogi chan in Japan passed away early Friday morning.

She had the cutest little face and I really wished I could have flown to Japan to see her in person, just once and chu chu'd her face. Yomogi chan was sooooo loved by the Atta ya family. Now she is in doggie heaven running free and breathing on her own.

さくかさん、よもぎちゃんを世界のみなさんに毎日ブロッグでshareしてくれて本当にありがとう。僕もよもぎちゃんの事いつまでも祈って居ます。一生わすれません。アイラブユーよもぎちゃん。

Doggie World at the 39th Annual Nihonmachi Street Fair

Did you hear? The 39th Annual Nihonmachi Street Fair will have a Doggie World for all of us four legged family members!!

I'm personally asking all my doggie friends to tell their parents to bring them down to this great community event that celebrates all the Asian/Pacific communities in the Bay Area.
I'll be there with my posse Bonanza, Tubby, & Leo!

Doggie World will have animal experts on hand to answer any questions like "Do I need to brush Fido's teeth?" Arguello Pet Hospital is the main sponsor Woo Hoo! Also local animal rescue organization such as Rocket Dog will be there too. The SF Animal Care & Control will be there also!! Maybe you'll get to take home a new brother or sister??

Mama said that all of us four legged sons and daughters are a very special and that is why her, Aunties Gail, Marie, Shirley and Uncle Glenn (Nihonmachi Street Fair Doggie World Posse) have joined forces to put together da best Doggie World this city has ever seen.

For all you fashionistas don't forget to enter the 1st Annual Fun & Furry Pooch Contest and you can't miss the Doggie Parade cause yours truly will be the Grand Marshall.

You heard it here. I will lead the beautiful boys and girls down Post Street to the main Webster Street Stage area! Judges for the contest will include da famous THE ANGELA PANG of the AsianWeek Foundation/Asian Heritage Street Celebration.

Money raised at this year's Doggie World will be donated to the Hachiko Coaliton. They work very hard to raise funds and outreach for the many rescue groups in Japan that are working so hard to save the many animals/livestocks still left behind in the Fukushima 20KM No Entry zone. This area of Northern Japan was hit very hard from last year's major earthquake and tsunami. There is still so much to do and we can all help.

So mark your calendar for August 4 & 5. This is going to be the EVENT of the year!!!

Yes I am a Fashionista!

Uncle Tony, Auntie Denise and Cousin Kalli went to Hawaii recently for Rene's wedding.

And look LOOK what they got me.

Yup folks that's an Aloha Shirt! I might add that it fits quite nicely too.
Bonanza now we can both wear our Aloha Shirts at the Nihonmachi Street Fair

They also got me a Yukata (Japanese summer kimono) too.
I can wear it at Obon this year ^O^;

I love them both! Thank you Uncle Tony, Auntie Denise and Cousin Kalli.
Chu Chu Chu to you all.

Oh by the way, I got to go to work with Mama while Uncle Tony was in Hawaii.

Uncle Tony told me that my job was to be a guard dog.

Uncle Tony I never worked a day in my life so I just stared at the door.

There's a New Kid in Town

Yesterday I noticed something from the corner of my eye.

Hmmm...what is that?

It smells funny.

It has no whiskers or no fur.

Mama!! What the heck is that?

Everyone, meet my little brother Chibi.
Mama said if I'm good to Chibi then MAYBE I can have a REAL little brother that smells and has whiskers.
Mama I am very content being an only child. Thank You.

Fukushima 20KM No Entry Zone

My Mama met a wonderful veterinarian from Japan, Dr. Shigeki Imamoto. Dr. Imamoto came to San Francisco on February 10 to speak at the Japanese Cultural & Community Center of No. CA. He showed everyone what's happening in the Fukushima 20KM No Entry Zone. For those of you who do not know, the people of this area were forced to leave and they had to leave all their four legged family members and livestock behind.

They have been without shelter, food & water for almost a year. It's getting colder and colder in Northern Japan and I am very very worried about them all.

Dr. Iwamoto has been going to the No Entry Zone every month to check on the health and well being of the animals/livestocks. Did you know that he cannot legally bring food in for them?

What he has seen so far is very sad. Mama showed me, and I started to cry. What can we do Mama? Dr. Imamoto said that it's hard for one person to change the minds of the Japanese Government, but if we all band together and start raising our voices then MAYBE they will see that all lives are worth saving.

The JCCCNC has uploaded Dr. Imamoto's presentation. Please see it and help spread the word.

Big Chu Chu Chu to Dr. Imamoto!!

My Yomogi Girl is Getting Better!!!

Thank you everyone for all your thought and prayers! Look my Yomogi girfriend has come back home!!

She still feeling a litle dizzy, but I'm just so happy to see her genki (healthy) face!

Oh BTW yesterday, Mama, Dad & I went to Japantown. I got to hang out with my NSF partner in crime, Bonanza. He's the Watch Dog King at Aloha Warehouse.

Bonanza showed me how to keep a look out for anyone carrying a plastic bag. Bonanza has a thing about plastic bags. I think he knows that these plastic bags are not good for the environment and that is why he tries to snatch any that he sees.
Oh that's my Dad in the background watching us.

My Yomogi-chan girlfriend in Japan is not feeling well. Her Mama took her to the hospital last night. Please keep her in your thoughts & prayers. If we lived in Japan, I would run to go see her. Sniff sniff. I love you Yomogi-chan.

I'm a Anime Character!!!

Looky Look, Mama's friend Andrew Uy aka "CatmAndru!" drew a anime character of moi!!!

Isn't it cool!! Mama wants to hook Uncle Andrew with folks that can help him make all his characters come to life. Wouldn't that be awesome! I can totally see a Saturday morning cartoon in the future ^O^

Please visit Uncle Andrew "CatmAndru!" Facebook page to see more!
If you're in New York, please go see a group exhibit "New Moon" of Uncle Andrew and many more talented folks at My Plastic Heart.

Kuru Kuru...Yatto Kita 2012!

So 2011 finally came to and end.
Remember that gangsta hoodie Mama bought me?

Need I say anymore?

Wishing you all a healthy 2012!
This is my year. I was born in the Year of Dragon.
Whaat??? I think I embody the dragon spirit!

Welcome to Teppei Boy!

Teppei is the name of our boy. Ok ok he is a pug, but to me and my husband he is our little boy. He's brought so much joy into our lives and continues to entertain us with his facial expressions that say so much. And that is why I have started this blog, to share with you Teppei's photos and what he's wanting to say.

I'm hoping to chronicle his life here so that you can see how much this little boy means to us.

Now without further a do...My Teppei Boy
